In 1957 at the dawn of the Space Age an IBM 704 digital computer became an electronic pioneer of the realm of the mind through the first full game of chess played by a machine. In 1997 IBM's Deep Blue dedicated chess computer defeated world champion Kasparov in a match. Whatever the year 2037 brings, chess technology continues to enrich our appreciation of the game of kings.

Dear Valued Customer
Yesterday I was discharged from hospital after a three-week stay following emergency abdominal surgery on 15 January 2020. Before my admission to hospital I deemed it prudent to close my shop for a then indeterminate period in anticipation of not being in a position to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.
I am pleased to announce that my operation was successful and that Gambit Chess Supplies is again open for business. I am advised by my surgeon however that full recovery will take approximately a further four weeks. Consequently I have made a pragmatic decision to offer the customer pickup only option for orders until I am again in full health.
I expect that I once more will be able to offer my national delivery options from March 2020 and look forward to serving both old and new customers throughout 2020 and beyond as I have for the past five years.
